Aeroflex IFR 6000 Test Set Operation
The Aeroflex IFR 6000 Test Set Operation is an E-learning course consisting of two modules. The course is intended to teach the learner how to use the Aeroflex IFR 6000 test set to conduct aircraft DME, Transponder, and TCAS system tests. The course is not aircraft specific and may be used for all aircraft types.

Upon Completion of this course, the learner will;

Be able to identify the components of the IFR 6000 test set and their purpose.

Know the functions of the keys on the IFR 6000.

Understand how to complete a user initiated self test of the test set.

Be able to navigate and change parameters on the IFR 6000 General Setup Screen.

Be able to navigate and change parameters on the DME Setup Screen.

Understand how to use and manipulate the parameters on the DME test screen.

Know how to complete a DME system test on an aircraft using the test set.

Understand how to set up the IFR 6000 test set to accomplish a transponder test.

Be able to accomplish a system Auto Test of a Mode S or ATCRBS transponder using the IFR 6000.

Know how to execute a single transponder test from the IFR 6000 Transponder Auto Test menu.

Understand how to accomplish the IFR 6000 TCAS test setup.

Understand that 14CFR 91.225 & 14CFR 91.227 contain ADS-B out regulations.

Know that Advisory Circular AC20-165 provides guidance for ADS-B Out installations.

Be able to identify the required ADS-B Broadcast Elements.

Know how to set up the IFR 6000 for ADS-B Out testing.

Understand the purpose of the AC20-165 Surface and AC20-165 Air Tests.

Be able to accomplish the AC20-165 Surface and AC20-165 Air Tests to verify ADS-B Out Broadcast Elements are transmitted correctly.

Know how to perform an ADS-B Out Position Source Failure test.

Be able to perform an ADS-B Air/Ground Status test.

Know how to perform a XPDR All-Call Inhibit test.
